Nightwish, “Amaranth”

Il video è basato sul dipinto del finlandese Hugo Simberg “L’angelo ferito”, e mostra due giovani che incontrano e soccorrono un angelo caduto e lo portano verso la loro abitazione, tra il dissenso degli abitanti del loro villaggio che vanno a bruciare la casa dei ragazzi con l’intento di sbarazzarsi del meraviglioso ospite, creduto qualcosa di maligno.
Nella canzone si parla del crimine di distruggere qualcosa “nato sotto un nome perfetto” solamente per avere qualcuno da incolpare; nel caso del video è l’ignoranza e la superstizione che finisce per uccidere qualcosa di incompresibile ma anche di bellissimo.
